Meet our Staff

  • Shaykh Umair Haseeb

    Resident Scholar

    Shaykh Umair Haseeb began his formal Islamic studies in Chicago, focusing on Arabic, foundational Islamic principles, and the Quran. He furthered his education in Morocco, studying Arabic and Islamic Law at The Qarawiyyin in Fes, where he graduated. Shaykh Umair also undertook private studies under scholars from Morocco and the Saharan desert, earning degrees in Legal Theory, Maliki Law, Grammar, Creed, and the Prophetic biography. Upon returning to the U.S., he served as a chaplain at Cook County Correctional and as Director of Religious Affairs at Ta’leef Collective. Currently, he continues his studies at Al Azhar University in Cairo and serves as the Resident Scholar at Mozaic, teaching classes, delivering lectures, and facilitating worship and remembrance gatherings.

  • Jamil Anouti

    Operations Officer

    Jamil Anouti serves as the Operations Officer at Mozaic, where his leadership is pivotal in steering the organization's operational strategies. Jamil's engagement with Mozaic is deeply rooted in his spiritual journey and his long-standing involvement with Muslim non-profit organizations. His commitment to these causes reflects a harmonious blend of his professional expertise and personal beliefs, showcasing his dedication to leveraging his skills for community betterment and spiritual fulfillment. This involvement underscores his passion for contributing to initiatives that align with his cultural and religious values.

  • Sherif Aly

    Experience Officer

    Sherif Aly, our Experience Officer at Mozaic, is the creative force behind our user-centric approach. With a keen eye for design and a deep understanding of how people interact with technology, Sherif ensures that every aspect of Mozaic resonates with our community. His passion for blending aesthetic appeal with practical functionality is evident in everything we do. Sherif's leadership in steering our organizational strategy not only makes our services more engaging but also deeply aligns with our mission to deliver impactful experiences. He's the visionary who makes sure that every Mozaic interaction is meaningful, intuitive, and delightful.

  • Muryem Quadri

    Director of Arts & Culture

    Muryem Quadri brings passion and experience to her role. Beginning with a 6-year tenure as a camp organizer for MYNA, she has developed children's programs across Spain, Turkey, and Malaysia. Muryem's nonprofit experience includes the Chicago Humanities Festival, Americorps, IMAN, and the Zakat Foundation. She's also managed experiential events for Havas Marketing and celebrity events for Yondr. Her expertise culminated in creating fundraising events, overseas carnivals, and a Chicago art venue pop-up. At Mozaic, Muryem is instrumental in shaping transformative retreats, aligning with our mission to offer heart-opening experiences. Her vision and structure are key to Mozaic's impactful retreats.
